Well, hello there! (As Obi-Wan says.) Another month has flown by and I’m chasing after time. Well, a quick walk towards it! Things have not changed much. I’m still working on the ‘Fire Bird’ movie. I know, I know. I keep giving myself a talking too, but I’m a stubborn fellow sometimes. Ok! Most of the time, but what can one do? I have come to a deal with myself, No Super Charly or Devious until I have finished this project. It’s all my own fault, I woefully underestimated the creativity required to bring it to life. Now that is not a slight on the people who have created this project, but a live performance is very different to a filmed project. So much is lost when filming a play. They are, after all, two very different media; even though they share the same goal. I have come up with a game plan and this is has taken immediate effect and I am on course to completing this project by the end of this month.
Then I can return to my own person project. This is something that I can’t wait to pick back up and run with it. I also have something extra special for Super Charly, something that I am very excited about, but I will have to wait till early next year to find out if it will become a reality. Actually, the whole process of Producing a feature film feels like it’s not really happening and it’s not until it’s being played in front of an audience does it feels real. In my experience and to avoid any person anxiety of, ‘Will it? Won’t it?’, plague my mind, I have learnt to just enjoy the ride and if I reach the final hurdle and not trip up as I make that final leap kissing the ground with my face on the other side, as I thud, painfully onto the ground and roll over the finish line………….Well, that’s just a bonus! Being able to create is a blessing and no matter the result, it is something to be cherished.
In other news I was overjoyed when my dear friend Mick Paul travelled to Oslo to premiere his new solo album and to be a guest star at a Prog-Rock line up. What was extra special to me was that Mick had asked me to produce some graphics, which would be projected onto a screen behind the performers while they played. So, I got to stretch my Blender muscles and produce over an hour of CGI content.
And just as a small reminder below is the short promo video, I edited from footage given to me by Mick and it was lovely to be told that it was used in the promotion material for the actual gig. I you like Prog-Rock I strongly recommend that you pick up a copy.
To get a copy of this fantast album (The reviews have been stella in all the music publications) you can go direct to www.mickpaulbassist.com or buy a digital copy from Band Camp or other outlets. Rock on!
