Welcome 2026! I hope everyone is happy, healthy and doing well.
There’s been lots of work done on Devious (The Doctor Who fan fiction show that has been a large part of our lives for the past 30 years).
Quite a bit of 3D printing, for myself and commissions. I even made a horse! And, of course, continued work on the Super Charly movie.
The Super Charly movie
My passion project is still on the go. Playing with AI to help create sequences (Like a moving story board), continue to improve the script, to make it as tight and as truthful as possible. And now, with the aid of Unreal Engine, find that workflow which will enable to produce this feature film. With all that I have learnt, motion capture, which I have implemented for episode 5 of Devious, creating the CGI environment in Blender and learning to use retro-reflective tec to help simplify a volume/green screen hybrid to allow the integration of live and CG elements, I believe that I am not to far away from being in a position to begin pre-production on this project. Devious must be completed first, but this still allows me to test out this final phase of logistics and to prove that I can achieve my goals with the tec and materials I have to hand.
Sad new! My best bud and faithful quadruped, Mistie Moo, has passed away at the grand old age of 17 and one month.
Every loss is a sad one, but our goodbye was a beautiful moment, worthy of high melodrama from a daytime soap opera. God! Speed my wonderful sidekick. I pray movies like, ‘A Dog’s Journey,’ are true and we’ll run alongside each other again one day.
I am so grateful for the life I am living. I have been so lucky and fortunate. To be able to say that I have packed a lot into the first half (and a bit) of my life. To have such a rewarding career looking after vulnerable adults and moonlighting as a film maker; the opportunities and experiences I’ve had, have simply been extraordinary and despite the dark times, which walked alongside me like an evil shadow, the peace, stillness, centred calm and joy I experience in my life now has just made me more appreciative of every experience which has shaped and informed me.
So, thank you Universe and all who live in it and who has touched my life and especially to my Wife and Son, who had to put up with me all these years
3D printing
Since March of 2025 my little Elegoo Mars 5 resin printer has been making more dreams come true and with the improvements of AI, which has helped speed up the model making process, I have been able to make presents for friends. Commissions for others. Making my own, ‘Kenner’, style action figures of the Devious characters and cartoon statues; for myself and others.
Someone wanted to buy a horse for their Daughter, who is learning to ride, but the expense couldn’t be justified, so I said I could build one far cheaper. Guess what? I did! Ha!
Also I helped Ashley complete his fiberglass Tardis and we completed it just in time foe the 2025 Doctor Who day at the Spiral day centre in Brighton.
We are hard at work on episode 6, the final. Even though, those interested, have seen the last few minutes via the DVD; Doctor Who and the War Games, this is a big thing for us. We are aiming to complete for the Doctor Who convention in April of this year, but like previous years, if we are not quite there, we will have a finished version for the convention and then spend a few months giving it a final spit and polish and then there will be a version for You Tube. Then, that will be that.
Wowsers! What a journey and due to the ending of Devious being out there, this project really has been about the journey and the Friendship between David, Ashley, Stephen and myself and our desire to complete this project. Our love letter to our favourite TV show. A project that we never thought would be seen outside the collective group who made it, but then the internet, social media and You Tube didn’t exist when we first started. Golly!

2026 has began emotionally and something inside tells me that it will continue to be a very emotional year, for a plethora of reasons…………..and my heart tells me, all good ones. Be kind, be lucky, be truthful and have a great 2026.
