What we leave behind and what lays before us
Hello! And welcome to 2024! Gosh! Time does fly and I feel like I haven’t done much in my 50 plus years here on planet Earth and there is so much to do. There is Devious (The Doctor Who fan fiction) to carry on with. My feature film (Super Charly) My work with the NHS and the continual happiness of my beautiful family! Better get on with it then.
Ashley, Mark, two of the Spiral’s finest; plus the Tardis and a Dalek. (Just for good measure.) Set up in the green room of the Spiral. This allows the service users of the Spiral to use their photography skills and then their imaginations, by letting them key out the green and put in different backgrounds. Where will they land the Tardis and battle the Daleks?
The Spiral
Ashley and Mark provided the Never Was Tardis and a Dalek to a Charity Day Centre in Brighton. The Spiral. The Spiral is a multimedia day centre which supports vulnerable adults with learning difficulties. They provide a safe environment where people can socialise and explore their creative side. Communities such as the Spiral provide a vital service for Brighton's community and is a fantastic place for those in need. Ashley's association with the Spiral goes back a few years and he has often provided a Dalek or two and this time around he enlisted my services to provide the Tardis, for extra fun. Especially as the Spiral were planning to celebrate Doctor Who's 60th Anniversary.
Music
Over 2023 I had began to create music using the software Novation and Musescore and the amazing Novation Launchkey Mini.
Movie
Super Charly, my third feature film, is still in pre-production. This will be year four for this project and I'm determined that this will be the year I'll find out if this project could possibly go somewhere.
More Music
I continue to be lucky and my ongoing friendship with Mick Paul and the David Cross Band which has allowed myself some great opportunities to, help, create some content for these living Legends of Prog Rock.
The next 12 months
So lots have been accomplished, but there is still plenty to do. Devious episode 5 and Super Charly will be my main focus this year, so we'll see how we go! Onwards.
I have continued work on attempting to have a ‘budget’ motion capture system and it seems like I have a working system. With the aid of the Xbox 360 Kinect and the use of the software, Brekel, in conjunction with Rokoko and finally Blender. It’s not Hollywood slick, but it works and will save a certain amount of animation time.
